  •  The IG was not asking whether the groups were (0+ / 0-)

    qualified to be 501(c)(4)s.  The question was whether Tea Party type groups were properly sent to the specialist group.

    If you crunch the numbers in the report, it turns out that 82% of the Tea Party groups warranted the additional scrutiny based on their applications alone.

    In other words, the IRS employees that are being labelled "rogue" and "off the reservation" managed to find a simple marker that, with more than 80% accuracy, identified groups that warranted additional scrutiny.

    They should be given fucking bonuses, not pilloried.
