Why all the reaching for the fainting couches in some of the commentary?
Every conflict in life doesnt require convening a study committee. (Tho Im sure thats what our Pres would do.)
There are lots of reasons to despise NR and some of the people who write for it.
    This isnt one of them.
Doubtless my opinion will provoke comparisons of me to the barbarians in the CAPITAL ONE commercials.

Using a cell phone in a theatre? Beyond belief.

I was at the Opera in Budapest, and this happened. I was totally amazed. Some people simply had VERY poor training.

Using a cell phone in a theatre is just like smoking in a theatre.

    •  Mr. Williamson said woman was "of a certain age" (2+ / 0-)

Which I suppose means over 50.  (this lingo is in the linked article).  He's maybe 40, a large man.

Now I'm not certain how it's relevant what the age is of the woman, but it certainly seems that Mr. Williamson thought so.

Once that picture gets into your mind, you might have a different impression of his conduct.

You have exactly 10 seconds to change that look of disgusting pity into one of enormous respect!

someone's hand and throwing it across the room is battery?

      •  Doubtless someone will wave 'assault' around next (0+ / 0-)

with its misleading and irrelevant implications for what really happened here.
I'm not a lawyer, but the diarist didnt ask about the legal ramifications if Ms Cell Phone wants to make a fed case of out it. The question was what did readers think of KW's conduct in this specific instance.

        •  I had someone yank the phone away from me (1+ / 0-)

legal action is appropriate, but this guy sure as hell does sound like an obnoxious jerk.  Given that Mr. Williamson raised the issue of possible legal action, I thought a response about the possibility of legal action was appropriate.
