    it's good close or less than fully zoomed I find.

    steadyness is possible such as against a solid thing, and concentration to let it focus, and not jerk the shutter.
    but when the osprey is diving...geez.

    I have to find the setting to turn on the multipicture effect where it keeps taking pictures while I hold the shutter open.

    it uses a lot of memory and battery, but one of the 75 pictures had a good Kingfisher picture. The rest were just a diving bird and splashing water...

    I also turned on 'image stabilization'..I had that off to save the whirring and battery useage, but for long distance across the marsh birds it seems to help...that and anything more solid than I...and concentrate on smooth shutter pushing.

    Anyway, keep at it, I liked the Nikon S9600 chained up in the best buy store, it was on, and it has some color settings available I saw.

    This machine kills Fascists.
