    I once chaired a committee meeting facing a large print of le lac d'annency, an afternoon meeting where the sun was going down. As the light changed, the picture changed. Even a print has a certain magic.  At the time, I did not recognize it, thought I knew it was a Cezanne, but I was easily able to find it when I got  home, and I have a copy in front of me now. 

    I hope some day to see the original, the painting, not the lake. Although I have friends who live in the vicinity, I never want to see the actual lake, it cannot possibly compare to the painting. 

    Reality is a good thing to know about, as long as you keep it separate from the Opera we live in
