  •  Some humans are antagonistic towards their (6+ / 0-)

own kind. Some kill them outright. Others have learned a "kinder/gentler" strategy of subordination -- i.e. human husbandry. Human husbandry counsels exploitation instead of outright extermination.
Now, we might consider exploitation a lesser, included offense, but blood-thirsty humans consider it a lesser evil or compromise that's to be countenanced. That's how preconceived notions influence subsequent behavior. It's all relative. If one presumes that all men are created evil (the premise of original sin), then punitive measures to make them behave are in order. And that, in fact, is the rationale behind the Cons' interest in governing. Their intent is to improve mankind so, like a surgeon confronting a rotting foot, the deprivations they inflict are legitimate. Money and the law are their instruments of choice.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions," not because intentions are insufficient to generate good acts, but because intentions are inherently perverse. Intentions are designed to make evil acts look good.
So, when someone says "I meant well," that's a clear signal of evil being done.
"Destroying the village to save it" is not an oxymoron. It is a fancy way of saying, "kill people to save their souls."

We organize governments to deliver services and prevent abuse.
