a footer on CNN 'conservative groups targeted by the irs.

The problem is that the right, and the religious right especially, hound the mainstream media and hammer them constantly and swamp them with complaints.
That makes it easy for the executives to control the content of the news.

Dems such as Durbin and Shumer and all the rest should be at work 24/7 mobilizing the left and even the moderately left of center to take their complaints to the network news. They should be getting the message, even the moderate messages, out any way they can. They should start off every press conference by first pointing out the Bullshit that is getting mainstream endorsement and coverage, and they should be doing 24/7 what Holder did the other day and calling Issa, et al out as liars.
They should be demanding equal time on MTP, FTN, etc.
    But they don't.

You can't make this stuff up.

      center"?  In what universe?

The problem progressives have is the same problem socialists had in the early 1900's -- the "winner-take-all" electoral system means that they are grossly under-represented in state legislatures & Congress.  (Of course, back in the good ole days 100 years ago, a lot of Republicans were progressives, but certainly not socialists.).
