Frankly, President Obama needs his own "MoveOn.org".

Lets take a quick look at the phoney scandals being pushed by the GOP and the potentially real scandals they are ignoring:

    The Phonies -

    1. Benghazi-Gate - This was never much of a scandal in the first place.  But after the release of the E-mails between the CIA and State, which the GOP had convinced themselves would be the smoking gun that would blow this sucker wide open, we all find out that there is no "there" there, just as the President said.  The talking point revisions were mainly about keeping things quiet as to who might have done this to preserve our ability to catch them.  That and some minor bureaucratic word-smithing.  This thing is dead, and the longer the GOP tries to keep it alive, the more foolish they look.

    2. IRS-Gate - First there were never any links to the White House on this one.  The original IGs report that broke the "scandal" debunked that theory on day one.  Now we find out that the IRS Ohio office was using Macros to scan for left 501s as well as right ones, and only booted out one left group and no right ones.  Now I won't argue that using Macros to screen for any particular political group is acceptable, but this thing was wrongly portrayed as a right side only targeting which it never was.  Also add in the fact that this occurred when the Bush appointed IRS Director was running the show.  Now that the Acting Director and the head of the Ohio office have resigned, this thing is over.  Establish new rules on screening for the IRS and move on.

    The Potential Real Ones -

    1. AP-Gate - Although this has nothing to do with the President or AG Holder who recused himself from the leak investigation before the AP tapping was done, this nevertheless appears to be a serious breach of the presses freedom that should be illegal.  While this is deserving of an investigation within the AGs office to find and punish appropriate staff, the GOP has little to say about this.  That's because its not in their nature to come to bat for the "liberal media, and this is something that they think is perfectly fine to do.  Republicans have done this and worse to the press in the past and probably will in the future.

    2. Military Sex-Gate - While this is definitely a real scandal that deserves a real shake-up of our military to drastically change the way they manage sex abuse cases, the GOP is again mute on this one.  Why?  Because the GOP rarely if ever has anything bad to say about the way the military does things, and lets face it, the GOP is not a women - friendly Party.  They never liked the idea of women in the military and some probably view this as an example of why it was a bad idea in the first place.

Let's forget about Benghazi, change some IRS screening rules, find and if necessary fire the AG staff responsible for AP spying (and pass a Shield Law), revamp the military's handling of sex abuse cases to take it out of the command structure, and MOVE ON!
