  •  Here's the list supplied by Merkley. (7+ / 0-)

On a private call with the Bay Area Democrats on Wednesday, Merkley identified Reid as the key person in the talks, and he urged activists to target members of Reid’s leadership team ahead of their meetings next week, according to people on the call. He also characterized Democratic Sens. Max Baucus (Mont.), Patrick Leahy (Vt.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Barbara Boxer (Calif.), Joe Manchin (West. Va.) and Mark Pryor (Ark.) as wrestling with his proposal, sources say.

This is what I've been saying.   We must put pressure on Reid.  It is great that he is talking about this, but he talked about it before without doing anything.  We must make sure he does more than talk.

And we have to get reform of filibusters of legislation on the table, too.  Filibusters are killing everything we want: gun control, climate, jobs, protecting and enhancing the safety net, etc.

Most of us aren't in Nevada and can't meaningfully threaten to no longer vote for Reid.   Most of us have never given him a contribution, so we can't meaningfully threaten to withhold that.

But we can send our travel money elsewhere.  We can use our travel dollars to create jobs in San Francisco.  In New Orleans.  At Indian Casinos.  Anywhere but in Nevada.  I don't want you to stop creating jobs with that money.  Still spend it.  Just go somewhere else until Reid actually acts.

Sign here to pledge to put pressure on Reid, and let's make this happen.
