  •  Yes! The same group accused of rioting (7+ / 0-)

last week by Americans for Prosperity's Tea Partying twitterpated tweeters.

You should come visit that same museum now -- it's been expanded and is a work of art unto itself. Downtown Raleigh has been revitalized/gentrified and isn't at all the same place it used to be -- it has exchanged tumbleweeds and crickets for food-truck rodeos and music festivals that brings tens of thousands to downtown each weekend. Very cool to see, though with the usual caveats about gentrification and displacement of lower-income and homeless residents.

It's such a shame that these whackos are damaging the not-so-shabby reputation North Carolina had as a moderate state with a good political balance of Republican, Democrat, and Good Ol' Boy parties.

and current dear friend's daughter and family live in NC.  I hope to go down with him at some time.  I loved my short visit there.  His daughter is an architectural expert on rehabbing NC (and other regions') houses and important structures.  Her husband is the artist/carpenter/contractor who does the work.  Stunning.

I hope your balance will return.  And I hope I return as well.

I grew up with the damn things in LA. I've seen them all across the southwest, but never in NC.

Raleigh still has some working class neighborhoods. Apex and Cary changed far more than Raleigh, IMO.

look for my eSci diary series Thursday evening.
