  •  Well, I don't mind some where we need them. (0+ / 0-)

However, we had a flood during Bush. They also tended to push domestic contractors out.

I don't have anything against the workers, and its really the gop that has supported the hypocritical status quo as they demagogue the border enforcement issue.

Some Dems are Wall Street whores too, but many of them are just concerned about the human rights and standard of living for immigrants.

We could have a new strategy, in which Unions quit merely protecting their shrinking toe hold in some areas and make common cause with subcontractors in right to work states and with immigrants.
We're on the cusp of a revolution in clean energy, architecture and the necessary response to climate change.
Unions should seize the moment and expand their reach.

You can't make this stuff up.

    •  Where do we need immigrant labor? (0+ / 0-)

      1) Agricultural
      2) Packing plants and slaughterhouses. However, I live in the Upper great plaines. There is a packing plant/slaughterhouse/meat processing plant here in town, it employs a LOT of local folks and the jobs pay well. You bring in illegal labor, the job conditions will go to shit, the jobs will pay nothing, and a lot people will cut their fingers off.
      3) I can't think of a single other place.

Whenever some one says "it's a job Americans don't want to do", you can be sure that a) the person saying it is making money by taking jobs from americans (like the scum shit immigration lawyers) or b) they are illegal themselves.
