of which you're aware: Impeachment results in removal from office, not jail time.

Government and laws are the agreement we all make to secure everyone's freedom.

I referred.  I was thinking of the GOP calls for impeachment of the President - and the separate calls for jail time for the civil servants at the agencies that they've demanded.

The point being that their contribution to the political discourse is nothing but fluff - does nothing to address the actual issues that have tripped up our government.  Whether it is the Benghazi attack or it is about the confusion that Citizen's United has clearly created, they've go no useful solutions to those problems other than to punish people - they don't offer any practical solutions to avoiding the same problems in the future.

The scream "Heads must roll because four people died because they weren't properly secured!" - But they don't give a damn about providing funding to adequately secure the tens of thousands of State Department workers who are not dead.  If they aren't going to offer up solutions for the future then why bother having any heads roll from this tragedy?  It is pointless to even bother.

Anyway, you get the idea :)  thx for participating and reading.

is that the press and the Dem leadership (at least publicly) continue to give dishonest actors credibility.

So far as I am aware, the New York Times editors still disallow Paul Krugman from calling Republican politicians liars.
