    The boreal forest is up north, remote for Canadians who mostly live along the 49th parallel, and even more remote for Americans. But America's backyard birds breed up there and we will have a silent spring if the boreal forests are continually destroyed. Tar Sands is one method but there are also logging companies working up there cutting down those trees to be turned into pulp mostly.

    I've seen photos of the enormous piles of petcoke which burns dirtier than coal sitting there on the banks of the river. That petcoke dust is toxic.
