    It was called isolationism which meant stay out of other people's wars and we pretty much did until the war came to us.  Specifically we provided support to Britain, Russia and China and let them fight their own war.    We did not then see ourselves as the policeman of the world, that would have been Britain. You decide but it was the policy we had.  Was this the right or wrong policy?  Grassley is old enough  to know this.  It's just a way to insert the word Hitler into a meaningless sentence.  Nothing to see here move on.
