the judge's religion is going to come into play more than the judge's political affiliation.

Then again, the Republican party isn't so much a political party anymore than a Jesus cult pretending to be a political party.

    This is rule under theocracy.

very little - if anything - to do with Jesus and what he stood for. If everybody followed the teachings of Jesus we would be in the far different world.

"Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothe Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:35-36, & 40
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."

Maya Angelou: "Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest."

      •  Pft, Jesus is an ass. (3+ / 0-)

It's all about "me, me, me." What a whiner.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Who'd love a (fictional) filthy desert madman preacher more than their family? Fuck this guy.

        •  Yes, but some say he was mostly like gay (0+ / 0-)

so he might come down on the right side of this issue, in an unlikely Dick Cheney-type style.

        •  Thanks for the verse. (2+ / 0-)

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to post these verses on FB.  How could anyone want to follow such an egotistical madman who then goes on to tell us how to murder villages, give up our children to rape and incest?  The human mind's capacity to follow neurosis into psychosis is amazing.

          •  I think the problem lies in how many (0+ / 0-)

don't actually read much of the book. Or as the joke goes:

A Pastor opened a Bible study class explaining it would be about lying. But first, he wanted to know who had read Passage x verses n... When most of the class raised their hands he said, 'You are the ones I need to talk to. There is no Passage x verses n..."

      •  Christ was a Commie! (5+ / 0-)

Plus, I have it on good authority that all of the Gospels are fakes and that Jesus wasn't actually born in Nazareth.  He was really born in the Land of Punt but used a phony birth certificate that said he was born in the Roman Empire.  He was also secretly gay, a fact that was covered up by all the lamestream scribes who gave him fawning coverage.  It should have been obvious, since he was hanging around with 12 others guys, all of whom wore dresses.  But everyone is just ignoring this mountain of evidence and letting Christ and the sheeple who are deceived by him push their sinister anticapitalist agenda on freedom-loving patriots.  And don't even get me started on the time he visited Cyrene, which we now call Benghazi.  The name change is just more proof of the wide-ranging nature of this coverup.
