    correct me if I'm wrong about this.

    As I recall, there were about 33% of people who stuck with W till the bitter end (and still do presumably). So if there are roughly 37% who consistently are just opposed to Obama on principle, that means about 4% likely doing so on purely racist grounds. Semi-scientific or pure speculation?

    Also, note that the 44% who indicate that they have no trust in our system of government includes those from both Right and Left of the political spectrum. The latter group generally gets ignored, while their right-wing counterparts get so much undue attention.

      But why do you think that only 4% oppose Obama on purely racist grounds? What if the "principle" that the 37% who consistently oppose Obama is racism? After all, I'm sure that over 95% of that 37% are White Americans, a group that has a terrible track record on race relations...

      I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Republican Party.

        those who stuck with W would be against any Democrat, regardless of race (see impeachment, Clinton). That some of them are also racists is not under dispute.
