    There are some aspects of Blade Runner that keep it an all time favorite for me; the scale from the snakeskin, the grittiness of the street scenes, the sweatiness of JF Sebastian.  While as mentioned there are deviations from the original storyline, I think the inherent themes are retained, with the larger questions of what sentience is addressed.  Imposter does as well, although I think there is less complexity to the plot than in Bladerunner, it's more a traditional detective story with futuristic conceits.  A Scanner Darkly was the movie disappointment for me, tho.  Lies Inc & Scanner were imo as well written as any modern sf.
