Accuse him of hating America because he wants to kill Americans.

This man is one of the worst people in the world, but Americans generally care about the disadvantaged.

We need to start seeing these nutjobs as what they are: a gift. This won't play well in Tennessee. We get a left-wing Christian to run against this guy? Someone who can quote Matthew 25:31-46 at the guy. That whole part about the sheep and the goats, and Jesus saying:

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

Left-wing Christians can accuse this man of trying to chase Jesus out of our government. That'd play really well in Tennessee. The left can take out the dominionist right wing at the knees, and win over moderate Christians in these areas. And left-wing Christians are with us on Marriage Equality, birth control, and the Right to Choose.

This man is unamerican, and he hates not only Americans, but basic human decency as well.

We can ruin this guy next year. People like this are how we can take congress back. We just have to be willing to stand up to the bullies.

All we have to do is play his right wing nonsense next to bible verses and quotes from Thomas Paine in a 3rd party ad and say: "Stephen Fincher: Unchristian, Unamerican, Wrong for Tennessee."

I know that might make certain people around here uncomfortable, but I know this area really well. In places like Virginia and Tennessee, this sort of thing is really effective.

You just play the horrible anti-human statements these guys make over and over and over again, show how they don't fit with the basic worldview of the area, and then provide your candidate as a fainting couch.

Christians and their  Bible are full of  contradictions, and frankly I don't think it's fair that my life is effected by bible banging right wingers!

    •  oh, my dear sir (4+ / 0-)

I should give you a tour of this Tennessee hellhole I live in where none of my neighbors will speak to me because I don't go to their whack-a-doo churches.  Or any church for that matter.  We have 50 churches for a population of 9,000.  Fincher WILL be re-elected, I'm sure.  And if I hear that damn "teach a man to fish" story one more time, somebody call 911.

        hate Atheists.

It's not about reaching out to the whack-a-do people, because that seat was held by a democrat until 2010.

It's about creating enough cognitive dissonance and chuchgoer dissidence that we push our margins over the line of victory.

I'm talking about doing the not-evil things that Karl Rove did. You take the positions that allow you to steal the 5-10% of the people from the other camp who agree with you, helping you seats victory. Going after those marginal votes can work, and help give Nancy Pelosi her gavel back.

We all know that the only vote that matters in  the house is the vote for the speaker of the house, because the speaker sets the agenda.

We might not win, but we can sure as hell give this prick a run for David Koch's money, which will help relieve pressure on other races.

My best friend is in Crossville.  We talk on the phone almost daily.  He has become such a changed person by virtue of his environment.  Espousing crazy right wing talking points without even realizing where he's picked them up from.

I gotta tell you, it's painful sometimes.  I'm the only person he speaks to that offers objectivity.
