    The whole DC establishment believes:

The last thirty years represented an unprecedented and profligate orgy of wealth, consumption and spending by the American people, rather than a long, dark period during which the regular American family lost its wages, its jobs, its wealth and its home.

They also believe that 401(k)s are full and that people have pensions that will be there when they take away Social Security.

I guess the larger question is, at what point do we banish such nonsense from our party? Anyone paying attention knows that "belief system" is complete and utter bullshit, and I've had it with trying to reason with Democrats who should damned well know better:

that 401(k)s are full and that people have pensions that will be there when they take away Social Security.

it's their situation, and isn't everybody in the same situation they are?

Didn't everybody have a good education, a professional level job, make enough to save, invest well, have all those nice connections to make sure they never had to work at those crappy, low paying jobs for long?

Doesn't everybody have that? And a mil or so in the bank for retirement? (hell, that's POOR for most of Congress)

Well, at least everybody THEY know has that.
