  •  I have a couple of things to say about this, Eric. (7+ / 0-)

First, it's pathetic that conservatives like yourself are still looking for "Obama's Katrina" with anticipation. It's not going to happen. Obama is not an incompetent self-absorbed piece of shit like Bush was (and apparently still is). A big part of this is that he's not, well, a conservative.

Second, this just kind of shows how much you people want to destroy Obama at any and all costs. They're absolutely aghast that this may suck some of the oxygen out of their faux-scandal week.

Third, and most important of all, WHAT IN THE HELL KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU THAT YOUR FIRST THOUGHT ABOUT THIS WAS ABOUT OBAMA?

    That bears repeating.

WHAT IN THE HELL KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU THAT YOUR FIRST THOUGHT ABOUT THIS CONCERNED OBAMA?

I'm sorry about the all-caps, but for the love of all that is good and decent, are you so fundamentally morally corrupt that you can't be bothered to actually care about the people who were hurt or killed? Can you not imagine the dozens of parents that are in a state of shock or horror to learn of their children's deaths? Can you not imagine the hundreds more whose every second until they hear that voice of that tiny precious being they took for granted only hours earlier is filled with dread? What about the children searching for their parents? Or the lovers searching for their mates? How about old friends hoping to share another beer or watch another Sooners game together? Dear God, man! Have you no decency? Have you no shame? People have died. Some are dying. Still more may have some, however slim, hope, if they can just make it through the night and our first responders, who will be putting themselves at risk so long as this crisis continues, can only get to them. Why can you not bring yourself to think of THEM for even a few hours let alone the days, weeks and years that this will go on for them?

    Why?

    WHY?

There are thousands of people out there for whom this represents the first day of the rest of their lives and all you can think about is scoring cheap political points?

You are a ghoul, sir. You are a ghoul.

When this kind of thing happens, you are not left, right, up or down. You are, first and foremost a human being and you do what you can to help those in need.

What in the hell is wrong with you?

Don't you dare  call yourself a Christian.

Now setting Mr. Erickson aside for the moment, (a place he so richly deserves to be) I've written much about the earthquake and tsunami that hit the country I love only a little less that these UNITED STATES just over two years ago. In that time, Shelterbox did very good work and I repeatedly urged this community to help there.

I urge you all to help once again.

Please give what you can. These people need our help.

Let us not fail them. Let us not make this about politics.

For the record, I am not in any way shape or form affiliated with Shelterbox, aside from having been a donor and will shortly be one again. I'm just impressed with their work.

Please give what you can and help these people.
