    is that another one of those things we are losing as we modernize and Industrialized Ag defines the culture and practice of farming now?

      read and write but could judge the weight of a bale of cotton by eye and tasted soil to see what amendments were needed.

      For myself I know every inch of my fields, including the various soil types, which weeds grow there and which way the water flows.

      Farming 1000 acres or more takes that away from an operator
