    I loved these bits:

Indeed, in the AP story, the journalists held the story until getting the green light from the CIA. They were then told that the White House wanted to make the announcement of their successfully foiling an attack.
So Obama is attacking the jounalists because they spoiled his planned PR event. That's chickenshit.
Democrats have repeatedly remained silent in the face of such attacks by Obama in a type of cult of personality. We saw it with torture, warrantless surveillance, the kill list policy and other scandals.
A cult of personality is right, especially around DailyKos. You know who you are.
Now Obama is demanding that the faithful turn their back on the free press as their latest article of loyalty.
And I'm sure the faithful around here will oblige.

Obama is the Chickenshit-in-Chief for failing to stand up to Republicans on all their phony scandals, from the "beer summit," to Van Jones, "death panels," Shirley Sherrod, contraception, Benghazi, and the IRS.

    •  So, national security wasn't at stake (12+ / 0-)

      just the WH PR agenda.

This is a good example of how corporate governance and the business mentality don't mesh with democracy and government.  Corporations are accustomed to the freedom to spy on competitors and employees and easily quash the sharing of information.   That works when you're running a corporation with an iron grip.

That approach doesn't translate to governing in what is supposed to be a free and open society.  Trying to force it erodes the quality and turns the US government into just another cheap tinpot dictatorship.

You can't merge a government, nor submit it to an LBO when it stops working effectively.

I copied the text from his/her comment and put in the bold because it was from Turley's article

Other area for Obama faithful to turn their back

      - SS
      - single payer health care
      - KXL
      - TPP
      - austerity economy
      - income inequality
      - poverty

Yes the Republicans are worse. But the confusion is part of the game that the oligarchs use to distract from the real issues

      •  Yes, the Republicans are worse. But not much. (4+ / 0-)

        And not on civil liberties.

And, now that the election is over and I cannot be accused of stifling turnout, I can safely point out that Obama makes all of the travesties bipartisan and divides the opposition to them (as we see here on this site), while someone like Romney would have discredited them and unified the opposition to them (as we saw with Bush-Cheney).

We could be here all day adding to your list.

    •  No - on every single one of those issues. . . (3+ / 0-)

I am here nearly every day and though there may have been sporadic support there has been consistent opposition to every one of those issues.

We sometimes rightly criticize HOW the right wingers are pursuing those issues and there is broad support here for Obama generally mostly b/c the alternative side is so horrible and not b/c he has a true progressive platform.

You have, rightly, called him out strongly on each of these issues. But you have also used every one of them to push sweeping accusations against this community and Obama.

      •  I haven't made "sweeping accusations against... (4+ / 0-)

...this community." I have made them against Obama's ardent admirers. And I stand by them.

Moreover, Obama is no longer running for anything but his billionaire retirement plan, so the fact that the Republicans are worse doesn't cut any ice.
