  •  I don't see any mention of Obama in the parent (6+ / 0-)

Obama administration policy on government surveillance of journalists, also the theme of the dairy, you are incorrect.  If there is a straw man here, it's in your comment.

A slower bleed-out is not a sustainable value.

      •  I have to disagree with you based on facts. (6+ / 0-)

The current investigation goes beyond partisan interests.  In fact, members of Congress from both parties loudly demanded the investigation last year after this leak was published.  I believe members from both parties called for action by the adminstration.  The Republicans took it a step further by accusing the President himself of the leaks.

From the date that the AP article appeared until Attorney General Holder appointed Ronald Machen to lead the investigation, there was a growing chorus of criticism because of the administration's inaction.

Even after Machen took over, McCain & Graham issued a joint statement to say that the administration wasn't taking the matter seriously enough.

There's more to the story than what was told when it blew up a week ago.  I dashed off a quick diary just now to try to open it up to show the broad picture.  If you prefer to take the narrow view that it's an Obama matter, that's up to you.  To me it's obvious that the story can be depicted that way but I do have a different opinion.

        Freedom of speech, right?
