your comment is bizarre - unless the only information allowed is that which is in agreement with the diarist's premise.

if that is the case, then this is not an open and free discussion of issues.  all too often in certain diaries on certain subjects, too many people demand that everyone agree or get out.

that is NOT the definition of a free society.  i hold my right to disagree vigorously with another's opinion to be sacred.

and, as usual, i find this diary disagreeable on so many levels.  the shutting down of opposing opinions is NOT the sign of a free society - and, i thought that was was the goal of this particular diarist - to share and publish open and free ideas.

from the reaction of many of the commenters, you'd never know that... would you!

...the exact same comment by the exact same person appears a little lower with a time stamp of 9:03AM.  That comment  was addressed rather respectfully by several other people at that time.

How many times does an identical comment by the same person have to appear in a diary before it's considered spam?

      •  Hey, I've hit post and found my reply showing up (0+ / 0-)

        twice, not intentionally.

        Maybe it's a glitch.

          ...so what?

Someone politely asked that someone not spam.  POLITELY.
The problem isn't a glitch.   Right?

          •  ??? (0+ / 0-)

I didn't see anyone "ask politely" and being a glitch, means just that...very probable it wasn't done intentionally.

Claiming someone is spamming when they are not IS what I was pointing out here.

Ok.  I'm insane.  And edrie has made substantive controbutions to this diary.
              Incidental.
              Carry on.

              •  So, the accusation of spamming was because (0+ / 0-)

you didn't like what was being said, got it.

                wink, wink.

              Please don't spam the thread.
              (emphasis added)

It is entirely possible that the second appearance of the same comment by the same person could have been a glitch.  Given the opportunity to respond to the polite request not to spam, the person who posted the same comment twice chose to not respond.  edrie, not having seen the comment twice, jumped on the person who politely asked the person not to spam.  I simply informed edrie of that fact. that the same comment by the same person appeared a little further down-thread.

It really doesn't have anything to do with me not liking what was being said since I engaged the person in a civil debate when the comment was posted the first time.

Someone doesn't like what's being said in this diary -- and that person isn't reading the threads as carefully as she should if she's going to police the diary...and based on her participation in this diary, that appears to have been her only reason for being here.  ymmv.
