    elections - which would have been much more important.  I mean, imagine their spin had they made America question the IRS and Obama while their candidate was refusing to release his returns.  He'd have been able to really rally the troops by claiming persecution even though there was none.

      You're right, it was early enough for the 2012 election.  Now that is odd that Issa didn't us it to help Romney.

        which is likely why he didn't use it.

        Romney wouldn't even release his records, something about the IRS scrutinizing so-called 'charities' would just make people question why they were getting looked at but somebody who made millions and had questionable investments DIDN'T.

        At least I'd ask that.

        And it would put the IRS in the news, bring up taxes and who gets tax exempt status and why, and all those PACs would get some scrutiny.

        That wouldn't have been good for Romney at all. He wanted anything about taxes and the IRS to just disappear until after the election, because any talk of it just made him look worse.
