Anthony Weiner is running for mayor and just released a biographical/humanizing video.

    •  I thought I saw his biographical video (3+ / 0-)

on the shelf in the back room of a local store--that is, the room where you have to be 18 to enter.

    •  You know, I don't hold Weiner's mistake (0+ / 0-)

against him. I mean, yeah, it was stupid and kind of creepy, but he touched no one and broke no laws. And he's a lot better on the issues than Quinn, I'm betting.

He has literally spent his time since he resurfaced trying to make amends about what happened and has not mentioned once anything substantive.
He is not remembered for anything substantive in the House either - merely being vocal and efficient on TV to defend progressive talking point.
And I can mention a long list of not-progressive-at-all stances he has taken on local issues over the years.
Has everyone forgot Weiner's run in 2005 was positioned clearly to the right of the Democratic field?
I am still puzzled by the strong reaction Quinn seems to evoke in some people but even setting that aside, if your issue with her is that she is too much of a centrist, then Weiner - try as he may to position himself as a progressive standardbearer because he figures that's where the niche will be - isn't it. I guarantee you he wouldn't be much different from her as mayor - down to the temperament.

It wasn't the scandal that killed him. That was pretty minor and would have blown over with a few Leno jokes at best. It was his disastrous response to the scandal that killed him. He committed political suicide by prolonging...and prolonging...and prolonging the story, by refusing to just state the facts and be done with it. I think he thought he was special, Mr. Rising Star, and he just didn't feel he needed to be upfront about it. And I don't really feel sorry for what happened to him.

      •  The mistake is he's a lying douche (3+ / 0-)

... as much as I do his nonsensical efforts to deny responsibility once caught.
