    First off, I always enjoy finding a new installment in this series. Great reading!

    I've read elsewhere that the 787 takes electrical controls to a new level, in that pretty much the entire thing is controlled by signals sent over a private on-board Ethernet network.

    I've also read that the passenger entertainment systems are also on an Ethernet network. They are supposedly separate networks, and yet have one or two common points of contact. I don't know the extent of that contact, and the security issues involved. Bottom line is, they are not 100% independent (at least according to some articles I've come across).

    But it does scare the hell out of me, to think that there is even the slightest possibility that someone on the passenger side could exploit the interconnection points of the entertainment and control networks. It just doesn't seem like anything good can come of that.
