  •  Frankly, I think the evidence suggests the (0+ / 0-)

    opposite.

If Sergio Garcia wasn't so completely owned by Tiger Woods, your perspective (that he views himself as racially superior) would make more sense.  But I see this as the child saying something he knows is wrong as a way of striking out.  I actually believe his account of feeling sick about the statement as soon as he said it, because he isn't dumb and he knew he was going to be paying a rather large price for this stupidity.

So, like I said, we may have a slight difference of opinion here, but do I care if he is labeled a racist and loses his sponsorship money - nah.  It probably serves a greater good.  But I am not going to delude myself that he, personally, is worth the energy.  He is a weak, kind of pathetic, loser.  Nothing more.

Certainly from our standpoint, this gives us a sense of momentum -- when the United States has accolades tossed its way, rather than shoes. - PJ Crowley

    •  O, I have no doubt he is feeling sick (7+ / 0-)

      about having made the comment.
Not because he didn't mean what he said but because he fears the backlash.
Though if the comments here are anything to go by, he need not worry. People seem to "understand" what he was saying and it was totally not racist.
Despite the history of your comment. Only totally non-racist use that slur, you know.
