    Because the House Appropriations Chairman - in the past, for decades - has had some pull, some leadership on budget matters. I.e. If not him, who else?

    For Chairman Rogers to assert that his hands are tied is ludicrous.

      I believe we are in violent agreement.

      The House GOP caucus is dysfunctional, because a significant minority are functionally insane (from a political standpoint) and would burn down the House rather than let taxes be raised.

      Economics is a social *science*. Can we base future economic decisions on math?

        I'm still boggled by how much the non-Tea Party Republicans have ceded over to the Extreme Right, and abdicated their responsibilities.
