    should these firms go bankrupt in the event of a catastrophic hurricane, the State of Florida will NOT step in to bail out property owners.

      Which is why we have repeatedly refused to be transferred to small fly-by-night insurance companies as Citizens has "helpfully" suggested one after the other. OTOH, Citizens just raised our rate quite a bit. Not that we ever expect them pay us anything either if a hurricane hits. Especially not with the huge deductible we have.
