The Republicans have a long history, going back at least to the Clinton Presidency of blocking Democratic judicial nominees because we don't need so many judges.

Of course when the Republicans get the Presidency all of a sudden there is a major national emergency because of all the vacancies.

What they can't get through the electorate they get through their activist judges.

A good rule of thumb is that if the Republicans claim that the Democrats are doing something it means that the Republicans are already doing it.

Orrin Hatch said during Clinton's term that there was no need to fill the vacancies.
