    I had a friend who once worked as a telemarketer; after she quit, when she got a marketing call, she'd string them along and then grade them at the end.

    Once she got called for a mortgage refi (first question:  "Do you know if your rate's over 7%?"  Reply:  "I'm pretty sure I know what my mortgage rate is.").  After about 10 or so minutes, she asked "Do you have a brick-and-mortar location where I can talk to someone in person?"

    Caller:  "No, we're just online and over-the-phone."

    Her:  "How long have you been in business?"

    Caller:  "About 7 years."

    Her:  "Then I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding other takers."
