The Unitarian-Universalist Association (Church) may wish you to come up with another name.

Not sure who claimed the terms in question first, though.

Prayers and best wishes to those in Boston, in Texas, and for this week to be over without anything else happening.

      •  Christian Universalists are a growing movement. (4+ / 0-)

Here's a website that represents them: The Christian Universalist Association

The statement by the pope is a very big deal. It moves the Catholic Church a lot closer to universalism. Christian Universalists are very happy about this. All liberal Christians should be happy about it. And non-religious people should be happy about it too, because if more Catholics believe fewer people are going to hell, there will be less hatred in the world.

The most serious problem in American politics today is that people with wrong ideas are uncompromising, and people with good ideas are submissive and unwilling to fight. Change that, and we might have a real democracy again.

    •  UUs don't own the term "universalism" (4+ / 0-)

Universalism predates the existence of the Unitarian Universalist Association. In fact, many ancient Christians were universalists, most notably Origen and Clement of Alexandria.

Many Zoroastrians and Hindus also have held universalist beliefs about savlation. Some Jews as well.
