I am aware of all the good things that LBJ did, but for me they aren't enough to wash away the blood of over 3,000,000 dead people that he is directly responsible for. He didn't start the Vietnam War, but he sure as hell escalated it to the horror it became. Whenever I think of the man the first thing that comes to mind is "Hey, hey LBJ. How many kids did you kill today". And he killed plenty. He'll never be one of my heroes. I have never voted for a Republican for any office in my life and LBJ is the reason that Jimmy Carter was the only Democratic candidate for president I ever voted for before Obama.
