  •  wouldn't you expect it to be fair? (0+ / 0-)

and not just focused on ONE specific ideology?

    •  I'd expect it to be fair of course. (0+ / 0-)

But given the considerably larger numbers of applications coming from right wing groups I'd expect to see a higher number of their applications examined in total numbers and as a percentage.

There is also the matter that many of these tax exempt applications are suspect, which requires further examination. Social welfare groups? Really? I'd expect the reverse if it were liberal groups applying for the same exemptions in large numbers. The fact that not a single application was denied tells me two things: 1) It was not politically motivated. 2) Our tax code is a total joke. Maybe I should apply for tax exempt status.

        1) The large numbers could examined without selecting them purely on the basis if their 'conservative' sounding names. Which is what occurred. There is no getting around that.

        2) That they were all eventually approved tells nit that they were suspect- that is bias- but the opposite, they were in compliance and should not have been singled out on political terms to begin with. The entire operation was subjective and arbitrary.

Now the tax code is messed up for sure, but it doesn't excuse unfair treatment by the IRS.
