  •  My problem with the First Doctor (5+ / 0-)

you see. My first Doctor that I saw was Tom Baker in two disconnected episodes from two different stories. The first full Doctor Who story I saw in toto was the Three Doctors. Now, how do I decide which one was my favorite?

...The Three Doctors is a bit weak, and poor William Hartnell was very ill by this time, so his part was limited and recorded at the BBC Centre.

Of the three involved with this episode, I would have to go with Pertwee, at least he got a new dematerializer circuit for the TARDIS out of the deal !  :)

I just loved the way he acted. And of course, the evil blancmange monsters were perfect old-school Doctor Who special effects. I was lucky enough to meet Patrick Troughton at one of the Chicago 21 Tardis conventions way back when. In fact, he kept trying to run me over at the elevators - the third time it happened we decided it was an introduction and laughed. Sweet, sweet man.

My favorite is the Fifth (old series) and the Ninth (new series).
