    Sorry to be blunt but this dairy was to point out that employment rates show that everyone is scrounging for work even hot majors.  The hot majors simply have slightly better stats.

    Oh and today's hot major can be tomorrow's useless piece of parchment -- see lawyers, architects and when oil is down all those geologists and petroleum engineers are scrounging for work too -- believe me I found that out in the 1980s and switched out of geology and eventually into history.

    Don't laugh -- I chose my electives wisely and have had a successful career as a financial analyst for the Fed.

    The key IMO isn't necessarily the major but having a realistic game plan and plan B, C and D if things don't work out.
