I too am facing some sort of cognitive decline with my mother. She has been displaying signs of decline for a few years. My father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer back in December and since mom has seemed to declined more. My sister or I do not live in the same city so we are unable to help with getting mom to a Dr for consultation. We tried back in April while on a trip to get her into a Dr for dementia but she refused to go. The trickiest part of the process is the diagnosis when the patient is unwilling to seek treatment. My mother in law passed with Alzheimer's 3 years ago. It is wretched to see them waste away from the whole person they were.

My heart breaks knowing what could lie ahead.
