  •  In a nation of over 300 (4+ / 0-)

million you are going to find some bigots everywhere. Sports though is credited with helping Americans to accept people who are different. Jackie Robinson, Jim Brown, Cassius Clay, Bill Russell - all these people helped pave the way out of the racism of e past, which was far more entrenched than it is today.

    •  No doubt; what is odd though is their open racism (0+ / 0-)

yet fierce loyalty to the team as if they don't recognize the players as individuals that are part of the team
if they hate the players so much -which they do - you'd think they'd just find something else to root for

The ability to disassociate is weird, that's all

but be glad when your team's black running back runs down the field with the ball. Remember, white supremicists think blacks are intellectually inferior. They don't deny their running and jumping abilities.

      •  It's not that odd. They are trolls. A "pure" (0+ / 0-)

racist aka Aryan nation type wouldn't be a fan of a pro football team.
