    Army back in '41, but because of his heart valves were damaged as a child with Rheumatic Fever, wouldn't take him until '44. That is when they started to project how many it would take to invade the Japanese homeland.  So they started calling up the 1,2 and 3 F guys up.  He made Sargent by the end and was discharged.

    When he passed away back in '63, my aunt got a first rate college education and my grandmother also was able to go to nursing school and had a good career late in life.  My aunt went into the AF and did 23 yrs as a nurse->hospital administrator.
