I do think it's a big part of their charm. Their short little legs are hilarious too; it allows them to get into positions that would be impossible for their longer-legged cousins. (As in the second picture above, your Jasper sitting on the edge of the little plastic wading pool--lol!)

By the by, I noticed you're in Butte County; I'm down in Sac. If you're ever down this way and have some time to kill, give me a PM and maybe we could go run around the dog park. There's a super nice, well-kept one right near me in Fair Oaks.

    God bless our tinfoil hearts.

If you do wind up deciding to get a Scottie, the breeder I got Jasper from is in Hanford, near Fresno. There's actually a whole family with maybe 7 or 8 Scotties who breed them, then the grandmother raises the puppies at her house until they are ready to go. Here's their website, specifically linked to the page showing the litter Jasper was from. He was the one at left front of the sleeping puppies (he stands out with the brindle). The little grandchild you can see playing with them in another photo is one reason they're so well socialized and love kids.

Be forewarned that there's usually a waiting list of about a year for Scottie puppies from any breeder because they can't have a lot of litters due to the large heads being hard for the mother dogs to deliver, and it's very stressful. I got lucky because these puppies were ready to go in mid-July, and a lot of the people on the waiting list ahead of me didn't want to take a puppy at that time of year because of vacations, but it didn't bother me and I jumped at the chance!

The hind legs on Scotties don't bend at the middle joint, or not easily anyway, so that's why he looks like a stuffed dog in that second photo. The adults still sit like that if they're on a car seat facing front and look really funny!

Yes, I'll let you know if I'm ever coming to Sac and the dogs can play!

I just clicked over and ... yeah. I'm officially a puddle of cute-overdosed goo. I love them. I don't know what it is but ... I just love 'em! :^)

I think it would be great fun to hang out, chantedor; sincerely hope to hear from you someday.
