  •  I'm too lazy to write a diary on this (0+ / 0-)

But it's pertinent to yours, so I'm just going to rant in the comments.

So I was bored this morning and decided to make a hopelessly futile-and-misguided-in-more-ways-than-I-can-count petition on whitehouse.gov about gerrymandering.

I was mostly frustrated with the Democrats in the senate bending over backwards on immigration reform just to appease the colicky teabaggers in the house.  Anyhow, I'm going to shamelessly promote the petition here.

Basically, I'm petitioning the president to call on current members of congress to draft and then propose an amendment to the US constitution requiring that federal congressional districts be drawn according the shortest-splitline method.

Yeah, I know that asking asking the president to ask congress to do something against its best interest is a lost cause.  But, hey, I literally had nothing better to do, so I'll give it a shot.
