Jacob Lew, Obama's new Treasury secretary, was previously exec VP for operations at NYU.  He had a salary of $884,339 a year, and before he jogged off to Citigroup, NYU gave him a $685,000 bonus and $1.5 million in housing loans.  Little wonder NYU students are expected to cough up $20,500 a semester in tuition alone.

Lew was no anomaly, by the way.  Top university presidents can pocket about $5 million a year and other NYU officials have bagged housing loans of up to $6.5 million.

    •  Shameful, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised (0+ / 0-)

We have quite a few academic shenanigans afoot in the Texas state university system, thanks to Friends of Perry.
