...Hillary's candidacy with Benghazi. The last thing we need is 24 years of Bush-Cheney. We're already stuck with 16.

How about some change we can believe in instead?

Obama is the Chickenshit-in-Chief for failing to stand up to Republicans on all their phony scandals, from the "beer summit," to Van Jones, "death panels," Shirley Sherrod, contraception, Benghazi, and the IRS.

with the State Dept. "providing diplomatic cover" it might just be a wee bit unfair to expect Hillary Clinton be the fall guy gal to take the blame for a covert CIA mission gone wrong.

..."The U.S. effort in Benghazi was at its heart a CIA operation," officials briefed on intelligence told the Wall Street Journal, and there's evidence that U.S. agents—particularly murdered U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens—were at least aware of heavy weapons moving from Libya to Syrian rebels.

WSJ reports that the State Department presence in Benghazi "provided diplomatic cover" for the previously hidden CIA mission, which involved finding and repurchasing heavy weaponry looted from Libyan government arsenals...

      ...but despite the fact that

...the CIA operation in Benghazi—which was reportedly trying to gather weapons—had three times the staff of the State Department temporary mission there...(and)  it could be expected that the Agency would have a better handle on the security situation in the area than the State Department....

...the CIA has largely escaped unscathed. "They've gotten a pass on a lot of this," a former Obama administration official says. Perhaps that's the real scandal...

The CIA isn't likely going to release details of their covert mission--including how the bad guys just happened to attack this "secret" (?) arms deal.  But what they are doing is blaming the State Dept.--and Ms. Clinton--for the failure of their mission and for their failure to protect the people involved in their mission.

As for whether she should run for POTUS, that's a whole other discussion.

      •  Benghazi is bullshit. Trying to hang it on... (0+ / 0-)

...Clinton is totally unfair. And I hope Republicans succeed, because I really do not want her to get the nomination.

Thank you for the links though. Always good to learn more about this stuff.

make the choices in the Primaries, and in the Presidential elections--not the results of Republican Party Witch-hunts.

In addition to trying to use Benghazi to neutralize a strong possible Democratic contender, the Republican Witch-hunt has already caused damage in ways that haven't made headlines but that have been disruptive to US interests in other ways:  Issa Document dump Outed Identities of Libyans Working with the US

...So the Republicans playing politics with the complex situation on the ground in Libya, a country that overthrew its government a little over a year ago, has revealed the names of friendly Libyans working with the US embassy, and has outed the covert CIA operations in Benghazi.

It is now clear why the Obama administration has been hampered in replying to the charges of Republican gadflies. They risked outing the CIA operations there...

If the republicans succeed in their efforts to remove Clinton from contention, there's no guarantee that the Dems would field a strong candidate or that that candidate would win.  There aren't any potential republicans that I'd be okay with as POTUS either.  Besides that, IMHO, what the GOPers are doing with Benghazi, the IRS "scandal", etc, etc, etc isn't assuring that justice is done.

They are playing politics pure and simple, and they are playing to position themselves to win elections.  They already have screwed things up badly enough by being totally in charge of one branch of the govt., and able to manipulate the other two pretty well.

It's my nightmare scenario to see them in charge of all three. (I live in a formerly blue state where they managed to take over the state legislature, and the governorship--and, trust me, the results haven been pretty).
