    works for a local community college that has a nursing program.  She is an admissions counselor who works with prospective nursing students helping them with the application (it's a freakin' book!) and gathering the documentation needed to complete the admission process.  Her job is funded by a federal grant (the state cut the funding for her job two years ago), and last week she was told that the grant now funding her job is on the chopping block and may not be renewed.  She will know by June 15th.

    This is no way to treat people, leaving them in limbo while self-righteous politicians dither over whose future will be thrown into crisis - not to mention the people who depend on the jobs they do.

    I blame Republicans for this, although I don't see Democrats making nearly enough public stink about what's happening.
