  •  Very thoughtful reply, Gooserock. (8+ / 0-)

I think you have considered this before!

Here is a question for you. How much do you think it would cost to finance a winning campaign against Citizens United?

    •  For Government as Opposed to Dog Catcher? (6+ / 0-)

Easily done at the local, and tiny-state level with citizen funding, for one or a very few races. Mainly adding up to a few scattered stunts.

The people don't have the money to affect government.

If government is to be changed, it must be changed by some other means.

but in 2010 the big difference in the Red Tide states was because of money.   Lots and lots of money.  First time I'd ever seen a TV ad for a State Senate race (the RWNJ Republican, of course, who ended up getting elected) or daily mailers from Republican candidates whose promises were too good to believe and whose mailers never mentioned that they were Republican zealots.

Money can't do much from the people in elections anymore, but our day to day contact with people still can.

That's all there is, besides the Corporations - and they sure to hell have no interest in upsetting the goose which has been laying golden eggs for them anytime soon.

If The People can't change the Government anymore, what the hell can?
