the most beautiful rock I have ever seen!

Second, what a great diary.  I am thankful I don't have small children in this day and age.  When my son was 2 years old, he was diagnosed with scarlet fever.  We lived in Southern California at the time and my mom called from Oregon to see how we were doing.  When I told her Nick had scarlet fever, she burst into hysterical crying.  It took me some time to calm her down and convince her that the illness could be completely controlled by antibiotics because when she was a child, it was a death sentence.

Of course, with the way we have abused antibiotics in this country, it may one day become a death sentence again.

Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring and integrity, they think of you. H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
