..comment that you are writing, a really simple way is to use the little box called 'add image' which opens up when you click on the 'link' button at the bottom of every new comment box that I'm writing in to make this very comment.

     • first you find a picture in the DK library and grab its address/URL

     • So i'm now clicking on the add a link box...

     • okay it's open

I've already grabbed the URL (address) from an inage I found in the DK library, by right clicking on the image and copying the URL.

     • now I paste that images URL into the URL Box (I erase the Provided http that appears and add the whole URL for the image)

     • and click the add button

I hope my comment makes sense as a way to add an image to a comment as an alternative to using the Diary draft route, which also does the job  :)

      Not seeing this.

Comment and Diary are not the same.

          ..click add image box.
Copied image's URL (address) from right clicking on image and choosing 'properties' to grab URL (address) and it cuts out the need to go to an outside host like flicker or image shack or opening a Diary draft..
.. as long as the image is  from Daily Kos source and will work with DK

It's quick and easy for trading pictures from within Daily Kos

YES, it works.  It's certainly faster than inserting it into a draft diary and then copying and pasting the code.

            Thank you, thank you.

..posting the full sized picture. Like this:
By right clicking on the picture,
                 ♦ choosing properties
                 ♦ copying the URL (address)
♦ clicking link (as if one were going about adding a typical link)
♦ checking the 'image" box which is visible when link option is open (that supplies the HTML for image embedding)
                 ♦ A full sized picture

It's only a thumbnail if that is the size that one grabs, like this:

If one grabs the full size size that will appear full size too.
                .........................
So I'm not sure what is meant by:

Only gets you the thumbnail version
                From the image library:
                thumbnail:

                And full size:

Boy that espresso looks good right about now :)

Right click on the resulting image . . .

                  and for good measure . . .

                  ward-snowden-pose.jpg?1372037166" width="100%" />

..adding just the right touch one needs: width="60%"> to the end of the HTML

to the ragged right edge of the comments.

..a full page iow's by themselves without the rest of the Diary where there is plenty of room and then compared it to the thread within the Diary which is at the raggedy edge
And the 100% keeps the picture whole. Another very cool thing to know.
The picture is reduced in size evenly within the confines of the raggedy edge. Whereas it is cut off in the above pictures.

I didn't notice this as I was viewing the pictures in an isolated thread (without the reast of the Diary and comments)

                        cool & cool Thx

you can just change in the URL:

                  thumb
                  small
                  large

And it will change it for you automagically.

                    Ha!

So unless one wants to be precise using width="100%"> or some other percent value just replce the words:

                    thumb
                     small
                     large
Thx elfling - that is vey cool to learn

Now if I knew how to offer instructions that  a gilas girl could use.

I think Eric Nelson (above in thread) shared how to use the dk image library for using images in comments.

I've followed the procedure a couple of times, but must be missing the proper code.  It still doesn't work for me.

Have to figure out later what I'm doing wrong.

                    That would be fun
