voters will not work unless and until the worst of the gerrymandering is repaired. And since the Rethugs control the redistricting process we have two strikes against us from the start. And the (probable) repeal of the VRA will make even harder. I don't see Texas going blue, or even purple as long as they Rs have a stranglehold on the state legislature.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is "Never get involved in a land war in Asia".

need a 501(c)(3) housing assistance non=profit.   Everytime the Republicans gerrymander, Democrats move.

    •  Texas is the poster-child state for austerity. (0+ / 0-)

We have more low-pay jobs, higher levels of income inequality, crumbling infrastructure, too many uninsured, undereducated, hungry people.

Here's where reality beats gerrymanders.  Once you hit the tipping point of population % that watched a house burn or a neighbor die or # of days without power, or overpasses collapsing, or schools closing, or parents without nursing home care you have a flood of conservatives who suddenly see how dependent they are on Big Gubmint and how helpless they are with No Gubmint.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
