    the Silent Wings Museum in my hometown would be a worthwhile day's venture, I think. It really does take a day to see it all. They have a WACO in restoration state, and they've started the work on a Horsa.
    Be my pleasure to cover your tickets for the museum & exhibits.

    I don't know if that's the only one being restored in the US, but I'll bet it's the only one in Texas.

    Yesterday they had an event marking the anniversary of D-Day. Night before we had a major storm, and some power outages around; and my buddy picked this week to go into hospital with a transient ischemic event ...

    LBJ, Lady Bird, Van Cliburn, Ike, Ann Richards, Barbara Jordan, Molly Ivins, Sully Sullenburger, Drew Brees: Texas is NO Bush League!

      has left me speechless.....sadly, it will take me some time to regain the energy to travel - and then I may have to go to the UK to see my brother. Mike is 11 years older than I and in fragile health, himself.
