    Frequently, the real reason for many of these demands to apologize (or many of the other petitions) is to deliver your name, address and e-mail to the organization that wants the apology or petition.  The information can then be sold to liberal and progressive groups who want to send you their own requests.

    My guess is that even the most abject apology by Sen. Chambliss would not consider people who oppose him to stop opposing him.
